The Muskegon boys basketball team opened its season on a sour note, falling 65-47 to Rockford on Friday in a non-league road game.
The Big Reds were cold in the first half, totaling 12 points and trailing 35-12 at the break.
Muskegon woke up in the second half, outscoring the Rams 35-30, but wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit.
Vern Nash led the Big Reds with 22 points to go along with four steals.
