The Orchard View baseball team split their doubleheader Thursday night against Western Michigan Christian, winning the opener 14-3 before falling by a 9-7 margin in the nightcap.

In the opener, Cardinals pitcher Brett Shawl got the win, striking out six hitters.

Dayton Rose led the Cardinal offense with two doubles and a two-run homerun. Rose had six RBIs on the night. Shawl and Owen Swanson had multiple hits.

In the nightcap, Chase Keller led the Cardinals with two hits and two RBIs while Isaiah Villareal followed with an RBI single.

The Cardinals are now 8-8 in the conference and 11-11 overall. They travel to Ravenna this Friday.

BRETHREN 3-3, PENTWATER 0-2 – Glenn Miller recorded a tough loss on the mound in the opener,
striking out ten batters through six innings.

In Game 1, Max Stoneman had the lone hit for the Falcons.

In the nightcap, Miller suffered the loss on the mound.

Nate Combs led the Falcon offense with a double and two runs scored while Miller recorded a hit.

The Falcons fell to 12-2 in league play and 13-6 overall.
