The Spring Lake softball team used yet another dominating performance on Wednesday to defeat Grand Rapids Catholic Central 20-1.

With the win, Spring Lake improves to 23-2 overall and 15-0 in conference play.

Leah Vaughan picked up the win on the mound while striking out seven. She also added three this to lead the offense.

Avery Flynn, Jenna Core, Molly Poole, Alicia Bumby, Layni Wyns and Lindsey Smith all had two hits for the Lakers. Poole and Mumby each had home runs.

LUDINGTON 20-12, WESTERN MICHGIAN CHRISTIAN 4-6 – The Orioles got two comfortable wins in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

In Game 1, Megan Mulherin pitched a complete game for the Orioles, allowing four runs on six hits while also striking out seven.

Olivia VerStrat led the Oriole offense with three hits and three RBIs while Saige Phelps had two hits with three RBIs. Bailee Wysong contributed a double and a RBI.

In Game 2, VerStrat picked up the win, allowing two earned runs on six hits while also striking out four.

Tiffany LaFrance had a double and a triple along with an RBI to lead the offense while Wysong, Mackenzie Howe, Alexis Bray, VerStrat, and Phelps all had two hits each.

Ludington improves to 8-12 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
