The West Michigan Whitecaps had their two game win streak snapped on Monday with a 4-2 loss at Lansing.

After the Whitecaps fell behind 1-0, Reece Hampton singled home Jose King in the third inning to tie the score at 1-1.

The game remained 1-1 until the seventh inning when Lansing scored three runs to take a 4-1 lead.

The last West Michigan run came in the eighth inning when Nick Ames doubled home Wenceel Perez, making the score 4-2.

Hampton led the Whitecaps with three hits and one RBI on the night while King had two hits in the game.

Whitecaps starter Garrett Hill took the loss, allowing two earned runs on five hits while also striking out seven over 6 and 1/3 innings.

The Whitecaps are now 16-19 overall on the season and five games behind Great Lakes for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
