The Ravenna softball team swept Newaygo on Monday using a strong offensive effort, winning 9-5 and 16-10.

In Game 1, Makayla Hogan led the offense with two hits including a solo home run while Laney Mabrito added two doubles. Maddie Kilbourne went 2-for-3 at the plate while Hogan picked up the win on the mound, allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out five.

In Game 2, Brieanna McFarren led the Bulldog offense with three this while Kilbourne, Lauren Odren, Taylor Maycroft and Kennidy Forman all had two hits.

SPRING LAKE 11-21, GRAND RAPIDS CATHOLIC CENTRAL 0-1 – In Game 1, Leah Vaughan threw a one-hitter, and struck out a whopping 14 for the Lakers.

Molly Poole had four hits, including a three-run homer and seven RBI’s while Vaughan, Jenna Core, and Layni Wyns each added two hits.

In Game 2, Avery Flynn threw a one-hitter in the three innings played, while striking out five. Alicia Mumby had four hits while Flynn chipped in with three hits and five RBIs.

Poole hit another home run in game two while adding three more RBIs, which brought her to 10 RBIs overall. ELyce Lindsey contributed two hits and three RBIs.

Spring Lake is 22-2 overall and an undefeated 14-0 in conference play.

PENTWATER 13-14, MASON COUNTY EASTERN 2-4 – Mikaylyn Kenney pitched both games in the doubleheader sweep for the Falcons.

Over the two games, Kenney accumulated 10 total strikeouts while allowing nine hits. She pitched five innings in both games.

Taylor Ruggles contributed in both games offensively, gathering two singles in Game 1, and three singles in Game 2.

Cienne Ruggles had two singles and a double in the first game, while Emma Oliphant had three hits in the second game.

Kenney contributed in both games with two hits and a RBI on the day.

With the wins, Pentwater improves to 11-4-1 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
