The Reeths-Puffer volleyball team avoided a scare and was able to defeat Oakridge in five sets Thursday night. 

The Rockets won the match with set scores of 25-23, 20-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-13. 

Brianna Stawski was a force for the Rockets, tallying 13 kills, seven aces, and five blocks, while Lindsey Ruiter added seven kills and four blocks. 

Elizabeth Jordan led the Rockets with 27 assists with Kenna Grant chipping in with 18 digs. 

The Rockets earned their first win of the season, improving their record to 1-4. 

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 3, GRAND RIVER PREP 1- The Crusaders won the match with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23. 

Erin LaVigne was solid for the Crusaders as she tallied 11 kills to go along with four aces in the service game. 

Calvin’Nae Simmons added eight kills while Claire LaVigne set her teammates up nicely with 31 assists. 

MCC improved to 3-1 on the season and will be back in action on September 14th in the Mustang Invitational at Northpointe Christian.

PENTWATER 3, WALKERVILLE 0- The Falcons won their first match of the season, winning by service scores of 25-20, 25-16, and 25-21.

Terra Cluchey led the Falcons with 10 kills, four aces and four digs while Jhordan Miller-Rowe followed with five kills, two aces and a team-high six digs. Haidyn Adams and Mikaylyn Kenny each contributed four kills in the win.

The Falcons improved to 1-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

RAVENNA 3, FREMONT 0- Rhi Pafford led the Packers in a losing effort with 10 kills followed by Natalie Jamison with five.

Carle Bruggema added 11 assists and Calla Miller had eight for Fremont.

WEDNESDAY’S VOLLEYBALL RESULTS

KENT CITY 3, LAKEVIEW 0 – The Eagles won the conference match by set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-11.

Erica Bull paced Kent City with 11 kills. Jenna Harrison had 15 service points and three aces and 15 assists. Jasmine Weeks led the defense with 13 digs. Kent City improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

HESPERIA 3, WHITE CLOUD 0 – The Panthers swept the conference match by set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Emily Bayle led the Panthers with 13 kills and nine digs.  Rachel Romero added five kills, three digs and two aces for the Panthers while Delaney Yates had three kills,  three blocks, three digs and three aces. Hesperia improved to 7-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

WEST OTTAWA 3, MONA SHORES 0 – Mona Shores fought hard but lost in three sets in the first of two non-league matches on Wednesday.

The set scores were 20-25, 25-22 and 12-15. Anabeth Hylland, Riley Rosenthal and Bri Wade each had five kills for the Sailors while Grace Norris served up 13 assists and Suriya VanderOord totaled 10 digs.

GR WEST CATHOLIC 2, MONA SHORES 0 – The Sailors lost their second match on Wednesday by scores of 23-25, 13-25. Riley Rosenthal had four kills for Mona Shores while Suriya VanderOord had eight digs.

Mona Shores is now 8-8 on the season.
