The Western Michigan Christian boys tennis team won a non-league match over Fruitport on Thursday by a 5-3 margin.

Tyler Newhouse (6-3, 6-4), Michael Kamps (6-2, 6-2) and Christopher Newhouse (default) won their singles matches for the Warriors while Jordan Hennings (6-4, 6-1) won his singles match for Fruitport.

WMC’s Austin Meiste and Zach Foreman (6-3, 6-4) won their doubles matches along with Joey Prince and Nate Vanderweide (6-3, 6-2).

The Trojans won two of their doubles matches as the team of Zander Beatty and Brady Weck (7-6, 6-1) along with the team of Caleb Foy and Richard Riekse (default).

WEDNESDAY’S TENNIS RESULTS

LUDINGTON 6, WHITEHALL 2- The Orioles won two of their singles matches as Carson Holmes (6-4, 6-3) and Ben Laman (6-4, 6-1) were victorious.

Ludington won all four of its doubles matches as Evan Mckinley and Owen Wojcicki (6-1, 6-3), Brandon Dickenson and Sam Cutler (6-3, 6-2), Josh Meinsenheimer and Matt Sarto (6-2, 2-6, 6-1) and the team of Ben Walunas and Jack Johnston (6-0, 6-3) won their respected matches.

The Vikings won two of their singles matches as Jackson Vanbergen (6-3, 6-2) and Rob Hentschel (6-4, 6-0) tasted victory.

MONA SHORES 4, GRAND HAVEN 4- The Sailors won two singles matches as Grant Hylland (7-5, 6-1) and Gavin Kuhn (7-5, 4-6, 11-9) were victorious, while Noah Bachmann (6-1, 6-0) and Isaac Postema (6-1, 6-1) won singles for Grand Haven.

Mona Shores also won two doubles matches as the team of Austin Grimm and Chris Horvath (4-6, 6-4, 10-3) won along with Lydia Sowles and Brady Whalen (6-0, 6-1).

The Buccaneers won two of their doubles matches as Tyler Degram and A.J. Koster (7-6, 6-2) were victorious as well as Grant Taylor and Jonah Sispera (6-2, 6-2)

GRANT 6, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 2- The Warriors won two of their singles matches as both Michael Kamps (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) and Christopher Newhouse (6-0, 6-3) were victorious.
