Jaxon Carpenter’s three-goal hat trick propelled Reeths-Puffer to a 5-1 win over Fruitport on Thursday night in O-K Black Conference play.

Aidan McHugh and Ashton Carpenter each added a goal for Reeths-Puffer. Jaxon Carpenter and Ashton Carpenter also notched an assist along with Jake Farrell.

The Trojans lone goal was scored by Ryan Laus that was assisted by Cody Mayette.

Demario Chapman recorded five saves in net for the Rockets.

Reeths-Puffer improved to 4-2-1 overall and 1-1 in O-K Black Conference play while the Trojans fell to 3-4 overall.

NORTH MUSKEGON 7, RAVENNA 0- The Norsemen were able to shutout the Bulldogs to capture their first conference win of the season.

Dylan and Trevor Schultz each had two goals for the Bulldogs with Dylan adding an assist as well.

Hunter Koekkoek, Luke Rop and Andrew Mallon each added a goal while Brody Hoffman led the Norseman with four assists.

Jake Hoffer earned the shutout in goal with four saves.

The Norseman moved to 5-4-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 2, MANISTEE 1- The Chippewas struck first at the ten minute mark to take an early 1-0 lead.

WMC responded with five minutes before the half when Michael Tencate found the back of the net to go into halftime tied 1-1.

The Warriors didn’t waste much time grabbing the lead, as Ashton Leffering found Brandon Fles from 20 yards out to take a 2-1 advantage.

The Chippewas had a chance to tie it up late in the second half with a penalty kick, but Jamison Goorman made a great play in goal and smothered the shot to keep the lead.

The Warriors moved to 3-1-1 on the season and will face North Muskegon Friday night.

LUDINGTON 7, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 1– Brayden Porter led the Orioles with two goals and an assist.

Bradley Paul, Isaiah Lynn, Colby Peplinski and John Biggs added a goal and an assist each for Ludington. Lucas Peterson contributed with a goal while Noah King recorded a lone assist for the Orioles.

The win improved Ludington’s record to 2-7-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

FREMONT 5, GRANT 1- Carter Moon’s four-goal performance propelled the Packers to a win on Thursday.

Waden Woods recorded the other goal for the Packers while Conner Roesler and Kasidy Wright each had an assist.

Fremont improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

GRAND RAPIDS UNION 3, MONA SHORES 2- The Sailors dropped their first O-K Black Conference game of the season on Thursday night.

Cooper Sabourin led Mona Shores, recording a goal and an assist while Camden Deruiter had a goal. Gavin Cheatum notched an assist to chip in.

The Sailors are now 3-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They play host to Kenowa Hills this Saturday.

WEDNESDAY’S SOCCER RESULTS

OAKRIDGE 1, SHELBY 1 – The Eagles and Tigers played to a tie in their West Michigan Conference opener.

Logan Claeys scored in the first half for Shelby, while Alonzo Rodriguez knotted the score for Oakridge in the second half. Jackson DeWitte has the assist on the goal. Spencer Anderson made five saves in goal for the Eagles.

Oakridge is now 1-3-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.
