In the West Michigan Conference opener for both teams, the Whitehall football team dominated Hart, cruising to a 60-0 win on Friday night.

It was a dominant display from start to finish as the visiting Vikings used a powerful running attack to take complete control of the game.

Andrew Durbin was the Vikings’ offensive standout. He was 2-for-6 passing for 62 yards and a touchdown through the air and carried the ball eight times for 136 yards and three touchdowns.

Whitehall totaled 309 yards on the ground with rushes coming from eight different players.

Kaleb Venema was another offensive standout with 88 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries. Caleb Koch added a touchdown for the Vikings with a one-yard score on his only carry of the night.

D.J. Wright chipped in with three carries for 32 yards. He also returned a punt for a touchdown.

Mario Moore also had a 54-yard touchdown reception for the Vikings.

The Vikings suffocated the Pirate offense, forcing 11 punts and limiting Hart to only eight yards of total offense.

Jarrean Sergeant paced the Vikings with four tackles and two sacks. Graycen Shepherd was another standout with three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and four total tackles.

Both teams are now 1-1 on the season.

Whitehall will host Oakridge (2-0) in Week 3, while Hart travels to Mason County Central (0-2).
