Jolee Houle broke the girls basketball single-game scoring record at Grand Haven with 35 points, propelling the Buccaneers to a 59-55 overtime win on Tuesday against Hamilton.
Houle just clipped the old record that was recently set by Alli Keyser, who had 34 points.
The Bucs trailed 8-6 after the first quarter, 20-16 at halftime and 34-29 through three quarters. Grand Haven went on a 19-14 fourth quarter run to force an extra stanza and outscored Hamilton 11-7 in overtime.
Caydee Constant added eight points for Grand Haven, while Zoe Spoelman added seven. Houle pulled down nine rebounds.
The Buccaneers are now 4-1 overall on the season.
