The Grand Haven boys basketball team suffered a tough loss in the final seconds on Tuesday night. The Bucs led by nine entering the fourth quarter, but Hudsonville’s Max Perez sank a shot just before the buzzer to give the Eagles a 51-49 win. 

With the upset bid falling just short, Grand Haven falls to 9-6 overall and 2-6 in O-K Red conference play. The Eagles are now 13-1 on the season and lead the O-K Red with an 8-0 record. 

The Bucs trailed 18-11 after one, but a strong second quarter gave them a 33-32 halftime lead.

Grand Haven extended its lead to nine with a 12-4 third quarter edge and led 45-36 heading to the fourth. 

Hudsonville outscored the Bucs 15-4 in the final stanza.

Owen Ross led Grand Haven with 19 points, while Owen Worthington had nine. Perez led Hudsonville with 14.
