A Phoebe Saunders triple-double and three overtimes were not enough for the Spring Lake girls basketball team, which suffered a 71-69 loss to Comstock Park on Friday in an O-K Blue Conference game. 

The Lakers trailed 24-20 at halftime and was behind by one-point heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, Spring Lake was able to tie the game 48-48 to force overtime.

There were numerous lead changes which ended with Comstock Park on top, outscoring the Lakers 23-21 in three extra periods.

Free throws were a major factor in this game, with Comstock going 25-for-45 from the line, while the Lakers were 10-for-25 during the contest.

Saunders led Spring Lake with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Abbi Perkins followed up with 19 points, while Meah Bajt added 12 points and eight rebounds.

McKenna Bent led Comstock Park with a game-high 26 points.

Spring Lake dropped its record to 5-11 overall and 4-5 in conference play
