The Spring Lake boys basketball team set up a championship showdown with neighboring rival Fruitport, after beating Montague 63-40 in the on Wednesday semfinal round of the Division 2 district tournament at Oakridge High School.
The Lakers and Fruitport, which defeated Whitehall in the other semifinal on Wednesday, will meet in the district title game at 7 p.m. on Friday at Oakridge.
The Lakers led 10-5 after one quarter and 25-30 at halftime, then took control with a 22-11 advantage in the third quarter and a 16-9 edge in the fourth.
Lucas Lyyski led the Lakers with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Kaden George added 15 points and 8 rebounds.
