The Whitehall boys tennis team had to battle to get past Almost 5-3 on Monday in a non-conference encounter.

The toughest match of the day came at No. 2 singles. Whitehall’s River Morrison lost the first set, then rallied to take the next two, including the second set in a tie-breaker, to win the match over Almont’s Jack Jellison.

Whitehall lost three of four singles matches, and had to gain its margin of victory in doubles, where the Vikings swept all four matches in straight sets.

Winning for Whitehall were Christian Smolen and Ryan Findorff (No. 1 doubles),  Aiden Raymond and Samuel Cole (No. 2 doubles), Christopher Mark and Griffin Lounds (No. 3 doubles) and Cayden Ritchie and Isaac VanAmberg (No.  4 doubles).
