The North Muskegon boys tennis team continued a strong start to its season with a 7-1 non-conference victory over Reeths-Puffer on Monday.

The Norse collected straight set wins in three of the four singles matches, only losing one two out of 36 games. Winners for North Muskegon were Brennen McManus (No. 1 singles), Troy McManus (No. 3 singles) and Charlie Branch (No. 4 singles).

Reeths-Puffer’s Tyler Tallefson won his team’s only match at No. 2 singles.

The Norse also won all four doubles matches, including the No. 4 match, which was a forfeit. Taking straight set victories for North Muskegon were Quinn Kersman and Ethan Koman (No. 1 doubles) and Shamus Corbett and Gavin Grimm (No. 3 doubles).

North Muskegon’s No. 2 doubles team of Pierce Marczak and Jack Taylor lost the first set of their No. 2 doubles match 6-3, but battled back to win the next two sets and the match, 6-4, 6-4.
