The Western Michigan Christian boys and girls cross country teams had a very good day at the Muskegon Catholic Central Invitational on Saturday.

In the girls Green Division, WMC finished second with 48 points, behind champion Holland Black River, which had 41 points. Muskegon Catholic was third with 73 points, followed by Holton (86), Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian (94) and Ravenna (134).

WMC’s Ava Rotman (23:41.24), Brianna Zuidema (23:45.80), and Cate Garretson (23:57.29) took fourth through sixth place in the individual standings.

Tatum Dykstra of Fruitport Calvary Christian (23:59.45) finished seventh, Lily Crowell of Holton (23:59.65) was eighth, and Vanessa Peltoniemi of Holton (24:07.12) finished 10th.

In the boys Green Division, WMC finished third with 49 points, just one point behind second-place Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian and four behind champion Holland Black River. Ravenna was fourth with 78 points.

The top local runner was WMC’s Jonathon Clausing, who had a time of 18:36.93. Holton’s Graham Resterhouse (18:37.14) finished third; Muskegon Catholic’s Q Lorenz (21:14.01) was sixth; Muskegon Catholic’s Griffin Michelli (21:26.62) was seventh; WMC’s Tyler Gould (21:39.40) took eighth place; and Ravenna’s Travis Getz (21:55.11) finished 10th.
