The Hesperia football squad won their season opener for the first time since 2016 after defeating Lakeview 34-7 on Friday in a CSAA Silver Division contest.  

The Panthers jumped out to a 28-7 lead at halftime.

Hesperia scored a touchdown on its first possession while draining over 11 minutes off the clock during the third quarter.

The Panthers had 460 total yards of offense while holding Lakeview to just 107 yards.

Mack Baird rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Hesperia offensively, while quarterback Johnny Majersky carried the ball 15 times for 113 yards and a touchdown. 

Brandon Quinn and Kyle Pomeroy also found the end zone for the Panthers.

The Panthers were paced defensively by Mason Taylor with nine tackles and an interception, while Brandon Quinn had eight tackles and two sacks.

Hesperia will face Kent City next Friday.
