Corey Vanderputte’s four-touchdowns and 290 all-purpose yards performance led the Oakridge Eagles to a 39-0 victory over the Mason County Central in West Michigan Conference action on Friday. 

Vanderputte opened the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Bryce Kartes tacked on the ensuing extra point. Vanderputte added a one-yard touchdown run to increase the Eagles lead to 13-0.

Brendan Raymond added rushing touchdowns from three and 25 yards while Vanderputte had a six-yard rushing score along with a 39-yard receiving touchdown. 

Vanderputte rushed the ball 20 times for 251 yards and caught a pass for 39 yards total.

Oakridge quarterback Ethen Daily finished 5-of-8 passing for 77 yards and a touchdown. 

Raymond finished the game with five rushing attempts for 54 yards and two touchdowns.

The Eagles improved to 1-0 overall while Mason County Central falls to 0-1 on the season.

Oakridge will host Montague next week in a conference contest.
