The Whitehall Vikings remain undefeated with a 4-0 record after a 36-0 win over Mason Country Central on Friday in a West Michigan Conference game.

Both the Vikings and Mason Country Central failed to score on offense in the first quarter.

Whitehall did not go long without points though, with Ira Jenkins forcing their opponent’s quarterback into the end zone for a safety, putting Whitehall’s lead at 2-0.

Early in the second quarter, Andrew Durbin punched in a six-yard run for the first touchdown of the game, extending the lead to 8-0.

Later in the quarter, two interceptions put the ball into Viking hands, leading to eventual touchdowns from Durbin and Caleb Koch, both with short runs to make the score 22-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Jaiden Altgilbers ran 10-yards for another Viking touchdown, giving Whitehall a 29-0 lead over Mason County Central.

Whitehall finished off their unanswered night with a three-yard run from Alec Pruett into the end zone to make the final 36-0.

Durbin led the Vikings offense with two rushing touchdowns and 71 passing yards.

Pruett recorded 87 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries while Altgilbers totaled 65 yards and one touchdown.

Jake Haynes and Connor Young headed the Viking defense, with Haynes making 5.5 tackles and Young with 4.5.

Khole Hofmann paced the Spartans with eight total tackles.

Whitehall will next travel to Montague for a clash with conference title implications next week while Mason County Central, who is now 1-3 overall and in conference play, will travel to North Muskegon.
