The Grand Haven football team is still searching for its first win of the season after falling to conference foes East Kentwood (1-2) 42-12 in O-K Red Conference action Friday night.

The Buccaneers kept it close early, trailing just 11-6 after one quarter and 21-12 at halftime, but the Falcons dominated after the break. 

East Kentwood added two touchdowns in the third quarter, increasing their advantage to 35-12 and putting the game out of reach of the Bucs.

The Falcons added a final touchdown in the fourth to bring the final score to 42-12. 

Grand Haven was paced offensively by Gideon Jones-Rikkers who rushed for 136 yards on 29 carries, while Tanner Williams added 48 yards and a touchdown on six carries.

Quarterback Owen Worthington was 7-for-11 passing with 73 yards and one touchdown. Grant Ellis was the leading receiver with two catches for 28 yards and a score.

Grand Haven’s defense was led by Williams with 10 total tackles and Breckan Hall with a fumble recovery.
