Hart earns first win of the season, defeats Oceana County rival Shelby 46-36 in high-scoring battle

Braden Carskadon led Hart to its first win of the season by rushing for 326 yards and five touchdowns in a 46-36 win over Shelby in a cross-town West Michigan Conference showdown.

The Pirates led in the first quarter 8-0, 22-20 at halftime and 30-20 through three quarters.

Carskadon added 117 yards and a touchdown through the air for Hart.

Freshman Jose Luis led the Pirates defensively with six tackles followed by Parker Hovey who added four tackles and a sack.

Hart is now 1-4 on the season and will play at home against Mason County Central next Friday. Shelby falls to 0-5 on the year and will play Ravenna next week.
