The Mona Shores soccer team battled back from a two-goal deficit to beat Wyoming 4-3 on Thursday in the semifinal round of the O-K Green conference tournament.

 

Hayden Yaros was the hero for the Sailors, scoring the game-tying and winning goals.

 

Easton Lopez scored in the first half for Mona Shores, which trailed 3-1 at the break. The second half comeback began with a goal from Ethan Brown, assisted by Yaros.

 

Yaros scored the equalizer to make the score 3-3, then bagged the goal that put Mona Shores over the top.

 

Goalkeeper Keegan DeKuiper played a key role down the stretch, keeping Wyoming scoreless in the second half.

 

Mona Shores, 10-2-1 overall and 7-2 in the conference, now advances to Monday’s tournament championship game.
