The Hesperia volleyball team battled hard but lost to White Cloud 3-1 on Thursday in the Division 3 district championship match at Hart High School.

Hesperia led in the first set until the end, but White Cloud battled back and won 26-24. The Panthers rebounded and tied the match up at 1-1 with a 25-14 win in the second set.

White Cloud went on to win the third set 25-22. The fourth set was exciting, with Hesperia fighting back from an early deficit to tie the score 17-17, but the Indians pulled out a 27-25 victory to claim the match and district title.

Hesperia finished the season with an 18-16 record. The Panthers were led offensively by Emily Bayle with 13 kills and Kara Sayer with 20 assists and six aces. Defensively, Bayle had 18 digs and three blocks while Rachel Romero added 12 digs.
