The Shelby girls basketball team defeated Oakridge 52-45 on Thursday night in a West Michigan Conference contest.

Lexi Schultz paced Shelby with 16 points, while Kendall Zoulek added 12. Lauren Brown had a near double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Tigers jumped out to a 16-12 lead at the end of the opening period, led 33-23 at halftime and held a 45-29 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

The Eagles were led by Destyni Lane with 15 points while Leah Lowry added nine points, five assists and four rebounds.
Oakridge is now 5-8 on the season and 3-8 in league play.

O-K GREEN CONFERENCE

MONA SHORES 35, ZEELAND EAST 31 –The Sailors finished the contest strong to earn an O-K Green Conference victory on Thursday.

Mona Shores led 11-10 after the first quarter and 19-16 at halftime.

The Sailors trailed 25-24 heading into the final stanza where they closed out the game with an 11-6 run to complete a comeback win.

Bri Wade led Mona Shores with 12 points while Olivia Sobczak added six.

The Sailors are off to a 10-2 record overall this season.

REETHS-PUFFER 49, ZEELAND WEST 38 – The Rockets improved to 5-4 in league play with an O-K Green Conference victory on Thursday night.

Ariel Walker paced Reeths-Puffer with 18 points, while Sophia Heckkema added 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Arrionna Williams chipped in with 11 points and five steals.

O-K BLUE CONFERENCE

HAMILTON 55, SPRING LAKE 34 – The Lakers trailed 15-7 after the first quarter, 30-11 at halftime and 42-19 heading into the fourth quarter.

Jennifer Judge paced Spring Lake with 13 points while Masen Carey had 10 points and five rebounds.

The Lakers are now 5-6 on the season.
