The Ravenna softball team was dominant on Wednesday, defeating Mason County Central 9-2 and 22-7.

Emma Gilliard picked up her first varsity win in Game 1, striking out 13 whlie allowing two runs on five hits.

Offensively, Kara Postema and Kendra Denhof each led the offense with two hits.

Maddie Kilbourne picked up the win on the mound in Game 2, allowing seven runs on five hits while striking out two.

Postema went 3-for-3 with a grand slam and a double while also knocking in six RBIs.

Holton 13-10, Newaygo 1-0 – Holton kicked off their season by sweeping a double-header in a big way against Newaygo, winning the first game 13-1 and the second game 10-0.

In Game 1, Kylie Gould had 15 strikeouts in a complete game.

Ryan Robins had two home runs and five RBIs, while Abby Fowler and Gould also recording multiple hits.

In Game 2, Ryan Robins had a complete game shutout while striking out 13.

Robins also had three hits and another home run, giving her three total on the day. Madi Bosset also had three hits, while Kylie Gould, Kendall Greene, and Kennedy Greene all had doubles.

TRAVERSE CITY WEST 11-17, LUDINGTON 1-0 – Lilli Goodrich, Rebecca Szoboszlay and Ayiana Rangel each had one hit to lead the Ludington offense in Game 1.
