Friday soccer roundup: McGruther posts three goals to lead Orchard View past Shelby in a non-league matchup

Kyah McGruther kept up her hot scoring pace, scoring three goals to lead Orchard View to a 3-1 victory over Shelby on Friday in non-conference soccer action.

Cassidy Noordhoek scored a goal for the Cardinals, as well. Haydee Pedroza scored the lone goal for Shelby.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

MONTAGUE 3, KENT CITY 0 – Emma Johnson led the Wildcat offense with two goals. Katie Nuttal added a goal while Kendall Osborne dished out a pair of assists. Katie Weesies added her name to the scoresheet with an assist. 

The Wildcats improved to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in West Michigan Conference play.

NON-CONFERENCE

LUDINGTON 2, TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL 0 – Goalie Keelyn Laird made 10 saves in the shutout victory for Ludington.

Sophia Cooney and Hailey Stowe paced the Orioles’ offense, scoring a goal apiece.

Ludington is now 12-4 on the season.
