The Mona Shores baseball team split a doubleheader with Jenison on Saturday, winning 8-1 in Game 1 before falling 5-1 in Game 2.

Brady Rose allowed one unearned run while scattering four hits over 6 and 2/3 innings in Game 1 to pick up the win.

All Sailor offensive players had a base hit in the opening game while Jaxon Huffman and Mason Brunworth each had two hits. Mark Konecny picked up his third home run of the season.

Brunworth led the Sailor offense in Game 2 with two hits while TJ Habelter had a hit and a run scored.

Mona Shores is now 14-6 overall and 8-3 in conference play.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 5-10, HART 1-3 – Micah TerHaar led the Warriors with two hits and three runs scored in Game 1 while Sam Liggest had three hits, one run and one RBI.

Sam Sipe picked up the win on the mound, allowing one run on four hits while striking out six.

In Game 2, Sipe had three hits and two RBIs while TerHaar added three doubles and three RBIs.

RAVENNA WINS KEN SMITH MEMORIAL – Ravenna defeated Grant 3-1 before beating Hesperia 8-1 on Saturday to win the Ken Smith Memorial Wooden Bat Tournament.

Adam Nutt picked up the win in Game 1, striking out five over 6 and 1/3 innings. Nutt had two hits and a run while Brandon McFarren had an RBI single, a run and two stolen bases.

In Game 2, Tristan Witt picked up the win while allowing one hit over five innings.

Austin Brown led the offense with two RBIs.

Ravenna is now 9-5 on the season.

REETHS-PUFFER HAS STRONG SHOWING – Reeths-Puffer defeated Whitehall 6-2 on Saturday before also defeating Spring Lake 8-0.

Jeremy Ardshahi, Alex Johnson, Kendall Smith and Trent Reichert all had RBIs in a Game 1 victory while Jaxson Whitaker picked up the win.

In Game 2, Ryan Barmes allowed no runs while striking out 12 over six innings of work.

Johnson had three hits to lead the offense.

Reeths-Puffer is now 10-5 overall on the season.
