MCC Jayhawks volleyball takes down No. 2 Owens CC over weekend

The Muskegon Community College volleyball team traveled to Perryburg, Ohio on Saturday to take down No. 2 ranked Owes Community College.

The Jayhawks topped the Big E’s in three games, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-15.

MCC took on Owens in a tri match where it also faced Clark State. The Jayhawks topped the Eagles in three games, 25-13, 25-12, and 25-15.

It was a team affair in the Jayhawks’ court production.

Raegan Murphy led with 87 assists, 20 digs, seven kills, five aces, and six blocks. Reilly Murphy recorded 33 kills, 26 digs, four aces, and four blocks.

MCC’s Bridget McHugh had 23 kills and eight blocks, Alicia Mumby had 13 kills while Alexis Strait got 11 kills and 40 digs and Maddy Wynn had 37 digs and scored five aces.

Autumn Sharlow contributed 15 digs and Lindsey Ruiter made five blocks for the Jayhawks.
