The Fruitport girls basketball team had a hard night on Friday as they were overwhelmed by the Belding Black Knights, losing 53-17.

Playing one of their best quarters of defense so far this season, the Trojans managed to hold the Black Knights to only nine points in the first quarter but were unable to muster more than two free throws to trail 9-2 going into the second quarter.

The Trojans troubles only became more abundant as the time rolled on with the Black Knights jumping ahead 25-11 at halftime and setting the cruise for the rest of the game.

Out front in scoring for the Trojans Sadie Norwood had five points and Auebre Johnson added four points.

Fruitport falls to 0-4 on the season and will look to post their first win when they host Whitehall on Tuesday January 4th.
