The Mona Shores boys basketball team nearly started its season the right way against visiting Grandville on Tuesday.

Unfortunately for the Sailors, Grandville came out on top 53-49.

The Bulldogs pulled away from Mona Shores with four players scoring in double figures. Brayden Gable led with 16 points, Trey Johnson added 12 points, Cam Regnerus had 11 points and six blocks while Tyson Mann chipped in 11 points. 

Devin Koetje gave Mona Shores problems down the stretch for Grandville, getting defensive stops and big rebounds.
