MUSKEGON — Limiting the Wyoming offense to just six points in the first half, the Muskegon Big Reds girls basketball team cruised to its fourth straight win, 52-23 at home Friday night in OK Conference Green action.

The Big Reds asserted their will on Wyoming from the start, and never let up on the gas after finishing the first quarter with a 10-2 advantage. Muskegon rolled up a 15-4 second period and bounded into half with a 25-6 bulge.

Wyoming managed to pick up its offense some in the third quarter, but was still outscored by a 14-10 margin and the Big Reds entered the fourth quarter with a 39-16 cushion. Muskegon had a 13-7 advantage in the last quarter.

Alayna Hussey paced the Big Reds with 13 points, JaMya Robinson tossed in 10 and Sahara Peevy contributed seven points.

Robinson also led the Big Reds with 12 rebounds and two steals. McKynna Sims dished out three assists. BreAnna Gamble-Jones contributed four rebounds.

Muskegon improved its record to 10-5 overall and 9-1 in the conference. The Big Reds are next scheduled to see action at Holland on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
