WHITEHALL — Spring Lake’s girls softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader with Whitehall on the road Thursday afternoon.

The Lakers shut the Vikings out, 4-0 in the first game.

Avery Flynn was the winning pitcher and scattered four hits while striking out nine.

Leading hitters for the game were Tessa Britt who was 3-for-4 with a home run and Alexa Carter who went 2-for-3.

The Lakers won the nightcap 10-8.

Emily Batka was the winning pitcher and had one strike out. Flynn came in out of the bullpen to register the save with two strike outs.

Carter was the leading hitter going 3-for-3 with one walk. Britt also had three hits and smashed her second home run on the day. Cheyenne Lyons was credited with playing stellar defense in the field.

The Lakers improved to 10-2 overall.
