KENT CITY — Kent City’s baseball team split a Central State Activities Association-Silver doubleheader with Morley-Stanwood, losing the opener 5-3 and winning the nightcap 3-0 at home Friday.

In the opener R. Darling took the loss on the mound, giving up three runs on six hits, walking one and striking out nine. T. Atwood pitched the seventh and gave up two runs with two walks and one strike out.

The Eagles had only two hits, one apiece by Kyle Larson who also had a run batted in and a run scored and Z. Kik who had two RBI.

In the nightcap Larson went the distance on the hill, giving up just one hit, walking two and striking out 18.

Kent City produced six hits with Atwood going 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Larson was 2-for-4 with a run batted in. J. Mack was 1-for-3 with a run scored. J. Anderson had a run scored.
