North Muskegon visited Oakridge on Tuesday night for a West Michigan Conference doubleheader and walked away with a pair of big wins.

The Norse topped the Eagles, 13-8 in the opener and 9-1 in Game 2.

North Muskegon freshman, James Young, picked up the win in the opener. Young was backed by 15 North Muskegon hits.

Denny Belmonte, Troy McManus, Sam Gallo and Matt Colbert combined for 12 hits in the Norse win. Gallo posted three RBIs and Colbert had two.

Evan Miller led Oakridge with three three hits and an RBI while Corey Vanderputte blasted a two-run home run.

The Norse continued to hammer the ball in Game 2, scoring runs in each of the five innings of play that was shortened due to darkness.

Ryan DeLora went the distance for North Muskegon, striking out five in the win. The sophomore gave up five hits, one walk and one earned run.

North Muskegon used a team effort at the plate, getting hits from seven different batters. Gallo and Colbert each posted a pair of RBIs.

Five Eagles each contributed a hit. Ryan Cribbins led Eagle hitters with a double.
