MUSKEGON—The Whitehall Viking’s boys track and field team captured the annual Greater Muskegon Athletic Association (GMAA) title on Friday afternoon in an event that was held at Oakridge schools.

Whitehall finished with a team score of 155, easily outdistancing 2nd place Muskegon Reeths Puffer who tallied 76 points and Muskegon who came in 3rd with 52 points.

The remainder of the boy’s team scores included Muskegon Mona Shores (48), Fruitport (46), Montague (40), Muskegon Oakridge (36), North Muskegon (24), Muskegon Orchard View (24), Holton (20) and Muskegon Western Michigan Christian (6).

The Montague Wildcats girls track and field team escaped by a narrow margin of 117-115 over Whitehall to claim the girls GMAA track and field title.

Muskegon Mona Shores finished in 3rd place with a team total of 75.

The remainder of the team scores included Muskegon Western Michigan Christian (62.5), North Muskegon (55), Muskegon (45), Ravenna (18.5), Muskegon Reeths-Puffer (18), Fruitport (13) and Muskegon Oakridge (4).
