MUSKEGON –The Oakridge boys soccer team came away with a third-place finish in its annual invite on Saturday.
The Eagles opened the action with a solid 3-2 victory over Wyoming Kelloggsville.
Arturo Romero scored all three goals to lead the Eagles.
After advancing to the winner’s bracket, the Eagles were shut out by Thornapple Kellogg, 2-0.
The Eagles turned the tables and handed a shutout of their own with a 5-0 victory against the Tri-County Vikings in the battle for third place.
Romero scored another three-goal hat trick in the victory. Vance Cerchiori and Isaac Utzinger each scored a goal.
Goalkeeper Keegan Williamsen made 18 saves on the day for the Eagles.
Oakridge will be at home on Tuesday for a non-conference contest against Western Michigan Aviation Academy.
