JENISON- Whitehall’s Kyle Stratton started his season in grand style on Thursday night in leading the Vikings to a 54-26 non-league football victory over the Hudsonville Unity Christian Crusaders.

Stratton accounted for five touchdowns, including three touchdown passes, one rushing TD and he returned an interception for a touchdown. Trannon Ayler was the target for all three touchdown passes. Ayler had four catches for 154 yards.

In all, Stratton completed 7-of-12 passes for 222 yards. He also rushed 11 times for 101 yards.

Nate Bolley led the Vikings in rushing with 110 yards on seven carries. Malcom Earvin added 65 yards on six carries and one touchdown. Jackson Cook and Jaiden Altigilbers also scored Viking touchdowns.

The Vikings fell behind 14-7 after the opening quarter before surging to a 27-26 lead at the half. The Vikings capped the scoring with 27 unanswered points in the second half.

The potent Viking offense amassed 565 yards of total offense, including 343 on the ground.

Defensively, Cook had 10.5 tackles while Graycen Shepherd had 8.5.

Next Thursday, Whitehall travels to Hastings for another non-league game.
