MORLEY STANWOOD—The Kent City girls cross country team finished runner-up at the CSAA (Central State Athletics Association) Conference cross country meet on Thursday.

The meet was run at Morley-Stanwood High School.

Kent City finished with a 77 points. Central Montcalm took top honors with 46 points. Newaygo came in fourth place with 135 points while White Cloud finished in ninth place with 211 points.

Kent City sophomore Lila Volkers took top individual honors with a time of 18:38.02.

Other top finishers from the area included Remington Arney (Newaygo/sixth), Isabella Max (Kent City/10th) and Gracie Houtman (Kent City/11th).

In the boys’ division, Kent City finished fourth spot with 117 points. Other local team scores included White Cloud (129), Grant (236) and Newaygo (266). Reed City won the meet with 58 points.

Kent City junior Sam Martini took top individual honors with time of 16:10.50.

Other local finishers included Brodie Delamater (Grant/11th), Coleson Cruzan (White Cloud/15th), Jaren Vogel (Kent City/16th) and Nathan Ciolk (White Cloud/19th).
