BUCKLEY—The Mason County Eastern boys cross country team took the Buckley Invitational title on Saturday held in Buckley.

The Cardinals finished with a total team score of 45. They were followed by Frankfort (54) and the Pentwater Falcons finished in 3rd place with a score of 100.

Rounding out the team scores were: Bear Lake-Onekama (132), Grand Traverse Academy (138), Traverse City St. Francis (150), LeRoy Pine River (156), Maple City Glen Lake (179) and Lake Leelanau St. Mary (191).

Taking top individual honors was Mason County Eastern senior Nate Wing finishing with a time of 17:08.23. He was followed by Skylar Werden (Frankfort) and Mason Sinke (Bear Lake-Onekama).

Other top ten finishers included: Abe VanDuinen (Pentwater), Kaden Forward (Bear Lake-Onekama), Jackson Kulawiak (Buckley), Chase Snell (Grand Traverse Academy), Peter Hybza (MCE), Luke Niedzielski (MCE) and Mitchel Daniels (Pentwater).

In the girls division Grand Traverse Academy took top team honors with a team score of 69. They were followed by Buckley with 75 and Lake Leelanau St. Mary with 88.

Other team scores included: Mason County Eastern (90), Frankfort (97), LeRoy Pine River (99), Pentwater (179 and Bear Lake-Onekama (195).

Taking top individual honors was Aiden Harrand of Buckley who finished with a time of 19:37.76. She was followed by Petra Foote of Grand Traverse Academy and Lucy Shoup of Mason County Eatern.

Other top finishers included: Anna Mitchell (LLSM), Lauren Niedzielski (MCE), Elizabeth Rigling (LeRoy Pine River), Julia Jones (GTA), Amanda Hill (LeRoy Pine River) Brooklynn Frazee (Buckley) and Anna VanDuinen (Pentwater).
