FREMONT—The Whitehall Vikings took both the boys and girls (Red Division) cross country championships at the 2022 Hill and Bale Invitational held in Fremont on Saturday.
In the boys division, Whitehall finished with a team score of 44, while Fremont came in at the runner-up position with 52 points and Fruitport came in 3rd place with 59 points.
Other team scores included: Montague (87), Grant (119) and Newaygo (147).
Senior Andre Richmond from Whitehall took top individual honors finishing with a time of 17:26.89. Senior teammate Carter McIIory took 2nd place with a time of 17:43.74 and Fruitport sophomore Vincent Pollock finished in 3rd place with a time of 18:10.60.
Other top ten finishers included: Brodie Delamater (Grant), Sean Pettis (Fremont), Owen Fairchild (Montague), John Christensen (Fremont), Stewart Waters (Whitehall) , Cole Lowery (Fremont) and Ethan Horan (Fruitport).
In the girls division, Whitehall finished with 37 points. They were followed by Allendale with 41 points and Newaygo finished with 88 points good for a 3rd place finish.
Other team scores included: Fruitport (93), Montague (136), Wyoming Lee (143) and Muskegon Orchard View (186).
Senior Ava Buhlman of Allendale took top individual honors with a time of 21:26.16. Coming in at the runner-up position was Fremont freshmen Linnea Paige who had a finishing time of 21:42.67 and Whitehall sophomore Cami Kraai came in 3rd place with a time of 21:46.76.
Other top ten finishers included: Remington Arney (Newaygo), Ariana Treat (Whitehall), Valerie Pollock (Fruitport), Jenna Hinken (Allendale), Adalyn Britton (Whitehall), Addison Noble (Allendale) and Tatum Dykstra (Fruitport).
In the boys (White Division) meet, Wyoming Potter’s House took top team honors with a score of 15 points. They were followed by Muskegon Western Michigan Christian (54), White Cloud (72) and Hesperia (95).
Wyoming Potter’s House took the top five spots.
The remainder of the top ten finishers were: Coleson Cruzan (White Cloud), Matthias (WMC), Luke Tibbe (GR NorthPointe Christian), Jonathan Clausing (WMC) and Iziquiel Picon (Shelby).
In the girls (White Division) race Muskegon Western Michigan Christian took top team honors with a score of 30. Following the Crusaders were Wyoming Potter’s House with 57 points, Shelby with 82 points, Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian with 83 points and White Cloud with 91 points.
Sophomore Grace VanderKooi from WMC took top individual honors finishing with a time of 21:14.31. She was followed by Hannah Geaney from Wyoming Potter’s House who finished with a time of 21:55.11 and Shelby senior Emma Soelberg finished in 3rd place with a time of 22:28.32.
Other top ten finishers included: Ivy Andreas (Wyoming Potter’s House), Alia Zuidema (WMC), Anna Tubbergen (GR NorthPointe Christian), Paige Chapel (WMC), Grace Folkema (WMC), Eleanor Kingshott (WMC) and Catalina Strong (Shelby).
