MANISTEE — On the strength of seven first-place finishes, the Manistee girls swimming team edged Cadillac 89-84 on  Tuesday night.

The nonleague meet was at Manistee.

Laura Eix picked up a pair of wins for the Chippewas, one in the 200-yard intermediate relay and the other in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Also winning two individual events was Lauren Mezeske in the 50-yard freestyle as well as the 100-yard freestyle.

Other first places were recorded by Macaela Bruce in the 200-yard freestyle, the 200-yard freestyle relay team (Eix, Annika Arendt, Tatum Jensen and Mezeske) and the 400-yard freestyle relay team (Eix, Bruce, Jensen and Mezeske.

Second places were recorded by Arendt in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly, Jensen in the 200-yard IM and the 500-yard freestyle and Macaela in the 100-yard backstroke.

Manistee hosts the Up North Meet on Saturday.
