HAMILTON–The Spring Lake Lakers girls cross country team couldn’t do any better than what they did on Wednesday afternoon at the OK Blue Conference cross country meet.

The meet was in Hamilton at Diamond Springs Golf Course.

The Lakers took the top five individual spots in the girls division to finish with a perfect score of 15 points and won the team title.

The other local area team the Fruitport Trojans finished in sixth place with 160 points.

Top runners for Spring Lake were senior Lily Parker with a time of 19:23.57, sophomore Lexie Ruffing finished with a time of 19:30.30 while junior Bea Reeser finished with a time of 19:46.70. freshman Alexis Kotkowicz and Meghan Guczwa finished with times of 19:50.43 and 19:53.75.

Top runners for Fruitport included Valerie Pollock (13th), Aubrey Delabrena (34th), Lauren Lee (37th), Brooke Sweet (38th) and Riley Koehler (63rd).

In the boys division Spring Lake settled for a third place finish with a score of 68 points while Fruitport finished with 92 points good enough for a fifth place finish.

Top runners for Spring Lake included Ethan Grevengoed (6th), Parker Woodwyk (9th), Tanner Guczwa (10th) Kody Vis (21st),  and Lucas Ruffing (22nd).

Top runners for Fruitport included Levi Glynn (11th), Vincent Pollock (14th), Johnathon McMullin (16th), Ethan Horan (25th) and Alex Wilber (26th).
