MUSKEGON–Mona Shores swimmer senior Robyn Hunt signed her national letter of intent on Wednesday afternoon to attend Duquesne.
 
The signing was in the Mona Shores Gymnasium.
 
Duquesne is a Division I college located in Pittsburgh, Pa. It is one of nation’s top Catholic universities and a member of the Atlantic-10 conference.
 
She will enter the program under the direction veteran coach David Sheets, who has been coaching the Dukes for 22 seasons.
 
During the 2022 season, Hunt was All-Conference in the 100 fly (sixth), 500 free (second) and 200 medley relay (second).
 
“It has been an honor to have coached such a great student-athlete, a great leader who put others first before herself every time,” said Greater Muskegon co-op coach Mick Homan.  “She’s a young lady who is always willing to go the extra mile to help others push towards their goals. She’s a leader who makes everyone feel like an important part of the team.
 
“Robyn is a true champion both in and out of the classroom. She makes us all better people, Homan said
 
Hunt has some impressive career stats including:
 
4-year varsity swimmer
2-years captain (2021/2022)
2 years OK Rainbow T1 all-conference swimmer  
Member of the 2019 OK Rainbow T1 conference champion team (12-0)
Academic All-State – 4.42 gpa
Academic All-American
3rd all time  in the 500 freestyle
Team MVP 2021
4 Time MISCA qualifier
 
“I am so proud of Robyn and wish her all the best,” said Homan.
 
Robyn is the daughter of Sheila and Devon Hunt. Robyn plans to major in finance.
