BENZONIA – The Ravenna boys basketball team fell behind early against Benzine Central in their season opener on Friday evening and never recovered.

The Bulldogs lost, 56-48.

Ravenna matched up well in the opening quarter before Benzie Central rattled off an 8-0 scoring run. Benzie Central went on to drain 10 first half 3-pointers and the Bulldogs couldn’t find a way to recover.

Drew Mabrito led Ravenna with 13 points, eight rebounds and four steals. 

Blake Homoly added 10 points along with five assists and Hunter Hogan had eight points and four steals. Carter Schullo led Ravenna with a game-high 11 rebounds.

Ravenna (0-1) will open WMC-Rivers play at home on Thursday against Shelby.
