The best defense is a good offense.

That mantra backfired on the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks fell in a 1-0 shutout loss to visiting Youngstown at Trinity Health Arena.

Andon Cerbone tallied the game winner for the Phantoms, sneaking in his 10th goal of the season with five minutes left in the game.

Despite outshooting the Phantoms, 43-34 and having three power-play opportunities on the night, Muskegon could not find the back of the net.

Jacob Fowler posted the game-winning shutout in goal for Youngstown.

Muskegon goalie Raythan Robbins took the tough loss, sending his record to 2-4 this season.

Muskegon will look for revenge in Youngstown next week when it again faces the Phantoms on Thursday, January 19. The Lumberjacks will head to Ann Arbor to face Team USA on Friday and then host on Saturday.
