The Rockets led 22-5 after one quarter and 32-17 at the half. Reeths-Puffer had a 32-17 scoring advantage in the second half to win the game by 30 points.

Travis Ambrose turned in a strong game for the Rockets with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jaxon Whitaker added 12 points and five assists. Tayte Vanderleest added 11 points and seven rebounds. Antrel Jones had eight points and six rebounds.

“It was a great defensive effort from our guys tonight,” Reeths-Puffer coach Nate Aardema said. “It was more than 4 minutes before we gave up a point.”

Aardema lauded the efforts of EJ Jones and Kyle Schlaff defending the perimeter against the Dutch.

“We were able to rest a lot of guys in the fourth quarter and got everyone a lot of playing time,” Aardema said.

Reeths-Puffer (7-5, 4-3) travels to Aquinas College on Saturday for a 3 p.m. game against Detroit Catholic Central.
