MUSKEGON — The Muskegon Catholic Crusaders girls had been struggling of late.

That all changed on Friday night when the Crusaders defeated Wellspring Prep, 51-15.

Muskegon Catholic took charge early on with a 14-2 lead after one quarter and 28-2 at the half.

“We came out with great energy early on, which helped us get off to a good start,” MCC coach Adam Callow said. “We have been struggling of late, so it was good to get confidence going early and keep that up all night.”

Carrie Ladd led the way for MCC with 19 points and five assists. Claire LaVigne and Olivia Scharmer added nine points each.
