Mona Shores girls lacrosse team drops tight decision to GR Christian

NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores girls lacrosse team battled to the bitter end before falling short, 12-10, to Grand Rapids Christian on Wednesday.

Behind 12-6 midway through the second half, the Sailors chipped away at the lead to get it within two goals.

Kennedy Hynde and Lainee Carmean led the way with three goals apiece while Reese Smith, Emma Reelman, Allison Fritz and Lauren Nelson each added a goal.

Also, Ashlyn Locke made her varsity debut with six draw wins.

Goalkeeper Alex Keurth stopped nine shots for the Sailors.

Mona Shores will hit the road to take on Jenison Monday, April 10.
