Spring Lake swimmers finish 17th; several earn all-state honors

ROCHESTER, MI – The Spring Lake boys swimming team finished 17th in the MHSAA state tournament on Saturday.

The meet was at Oakland University. 

The Lakers did earn several all-state honors.

The team of Kyle Eacker, Ryan Fisher, Noah Fletcher, Alex Strauss and Johnny Wachter earned all-state honors with eighth-place finish in the 200 free relay. They finished in 13th place in the 400 free relay.

Wachter also had a solid day with a fourth-place finish in the 50 free and a fifth-place finish in the 100 fly.

Matthew Daudelin, Nathan Navarre, Tomas Ruiz and Fisher finished 21st as a team in the 200-medley relay.

Jonah VanDreumel finished 30th in 11 dives.

“Congratulations on another season full of highlights and great experiences,” said Laker coach Nick Zacek.
