Mason County Eastern track teams finish second at Onekama

ONEKAMA-The Mason County Eastern boys and girls track and field team both finished in second place on Friday afternoon at the Onekama Invitational. 

Pentwater was the only other local team to participate in the eight-team field. The Falcons finished in eighth place in the girls’ division with 40 points and came in third place in the boys’ division with 107.

In the boys’ division, Maple City Glen Lake took the spot with 151.5 points. The Cardinals followed them with 120.5 points.

Top individual performances for Mason County Eastern and Pentwater included:

100 Meters – Dakota Matzen, MCE (1st); Lane Reed, Pentwater (2nd); Kaleb Brown, Pentwater (4th) and Logan Fatura, Pentwater (6th)

200 Meters – Dakota Matzen, MCE (1st) and Ben Merten, Pentwater (8th)

400 Meters – Dakota Matzen, MCE (1st); Lane Rood, Pentwater (2nd) and Kaleb Brown, Pentwater (3rd)

800 Meters – Nathan Wing, MCE (1st); Abe VanDuinen, Pentwater (2nd); Alex Tyndall, MCE (4th) and James Davis, Pentwater (7th)

1600 Meters – Abe VanDuinen, Pentwater (1st); Alex Tyndall, MCE (2nd); Nathan Wing, MCE (4th); Mitchel Daniels, Pentwater (8th) and James Davis, Pentwater (10th)

110m Hurdles – Ron Hasenbank, MCE (3rd)

300m Hurdles – Ron Hasenback, MCE (3rd)

4 x 800 Relay – MCE (2nd)

Shot Put – Jude Mickevich, MCE (3rd) and Clay Shoup, MCE (9th)

Discus – Jude Mickevich, MCE (3rd) and Clay Shoup, MCE (5th)

Long Jump – Kaleb Brown, Pentwater (2nd); Nathan Wing, MCE (8th) and James Davis, Pentwater (10th)

In the girls division Frankfor took the spot finishing with 186.5 points while Mason County Eastern finished with 94.5 total points.
